Roger S. Desai, LUTCF, CFE
Roger serves as president of RSD Financial, with over 15 years experience in the financial services industry. In 1988, Roger received his Bachelors of Science degree in business management at Towson University.
Roger earned the designation of Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) in 1996 from the National Association of Life Underwriters. In August 2005, Roger earned his Certified Financial Educator (CFE) designation. He is currently working towards his CFP designation. Roger is also a member of both the Financial Planning Association and the Financial Life Planning institute.
Since 1993 Roger has been in the financial service business. He started as an account representative with Horace Mann Educators Corp. During his 3 years with Horace Mann, he provided clients with life, health, property-casualty insurance, annuities, and retirement planning. From 1996-1999, Roger was a registered representative with Edward Jones & Co., providing investment advisory services to individuals and small business owners. In November 1999, Roger joined Securities America, Inc. (SAI) a broker/dealer, member FINRA/SIPC. Roger is licensed for securities in the states of AZ, CA, DE, FL, GA, IL, MD, NY, PA, SC, TN, VA, WA,and WV.
Roger spends many evenings teaching investment classes at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), Howard County Community College (HCC) Anne Arundel Community College (AACC), and various employers offices. He enjoys sharing his experience and abilities with others, believing that everyone should know the basics of investing and should have a financial strategy for their future.
As an independent financial planner, Roger is able to focus on his clients by customizing investment portfolios to match their needs. He has a strong recognition of the special challenges that face retirees, who need to carefully strategize their investments in order to enjoy the freedom that retirement brings.
His clients most appreciate the level of communication he maintains with them, and how he takes each individual's tolerance for risk into account. Roger makes it a point to keep in contact with his clients about the status of their investments. On occasion, he has been known to visit a clients home when they are unable to come to him.
Christopher W. Oxenham, CHFC
Chris has a degree in finance from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland College Park. In addition, in 2012 Chris completed his Chartered Financial Consultant Designation from the American College.
Before moving to Securities America in November of 2011, Chris previously was an advisor for Mass Mutual for 5 years. Chris has built a thriving practice on the concept of portfolio customizing with the core belief that investments need to be tailored to the client, not the other way around. As an independent advisor, Chris takes advantage of low cost platforms to design customized investment plans tailored to the clients’ risk tolerance, growth needs, and income needs. Chris takes a unique approach by looking at projecting retirement cash flows to dictate how to design a portfolio for his clients.
Working with families and businesses, Chris focuses on Retirement Planning, General Wealth Management, Comprehensive Financial Planning, Life, Disability, and Long Term Care Insurance; and Employer Health Plans.
Chris is currently securities licensed in MD, VA, NY, NC, SC, UT and TX.
Chris resides in Ellicott City with his wife, Nicole and daughter, Madison. In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and is an avid Maryland Terps fan.
Elizabeth L. Piotrowski
Beth is a graduate of University of Maryland Baltimore County and comes to RSD Financial with years of paralegal experience. Beth serves as an Associate Member of RSD Financial assisting Roger with office procedures, business development and client relations. Beth has a natural way with people and is committed to meeting the needs of each of our clients.
