Roger S. Desai, AIF®, LUTCF, CFE

Roger serves as president of RSD Financial, with over 23 years of experience in the financial services industry. In 1988, Roger received his Bachelors of Science degree in business management at Towson University.

Roger's designations include, Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), and Certified Financial Educator (CFE).  He is also a member of both the Financial Planning Association and the Financial Life Planning institute.

In 1993, Roger started as an account representative with Horace Mann Educators Corp. During his 3 years with Horace Mann, he provided clients with life, health, property-casualty insurance, annuities, and retirement planning. From 1996-1999, Roger was a registered representative with Edward Jones & Co., providing investment advisory services to individuals and small business owners. In November 1999, Roger joined Securities America, Inc. (SAI) a broker/dealer, member FINRA/SIPC to start RSD Financial, LLC. 

Roger spends many evenings teaching investment classes at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), Howard County Community College (HCC) Anne Arundel Community College (AACC), and various employers' offices. He enjoys sharing his experience and abilities with others, believing that everyone should know the basics of investing and should have a financial strategy for their future.

As an independent financial planner, Roger is able to focus on his clients by customizing investment portfolios to match their needs. He has a strong recognition of the special challenges that face retirees, who need to carefully strategize their investments in order to enjoy the freedom that retirement brings.

His clients most appreciate the level of communication he maintains with them, and how he takes each individual's tolerance for risk into account.

Roger currently resides in Howard County with his wife and children. In his spare time, he enjoys being involved in the local community, as well as playing tennis and volleyball.

Michelle Walterhoefer, Operations Assistant

Michelle (Shelly) worked for a small business as an account manager with focus on client support. She is married to her husband of 27 years and has 3 children. Shelly enjoys spending time with her family and is looking forward to working with our clients to build strong and lasting relationships.





 Randy L Scritchfield, CFP®, LUTCF


Randy brings over 30 years of industry experience to the table. As a dedicated advisor of his own retirement planning firm, he has worked with his own client base in not only Maryland, but to clients in 22 other states across the country.While his firm specializes in retirement planning, they are able to provide a wide range of assistance from general budgeting to setting up college savings accounts. Randy balances his industry leadership with community involvement, currently serving on the board of his local Chamber of Commerce, the Boys & Girls clubs and several other organizations. Jay G Hymer, Attorney

 Jay G. Hymer is a partner of the law firm of Schnitzer & Hymer, LLC. Jay has engaged in the practice of law since 1987.  He practices in the areas of estates & trusts, business transactions and tax matters.  Prior to his law career, Jay was a CPA, practicing in the tax compliance area. He has lectured on the needs and benefits of estate planning. He has also served on the board of a charitable loan organization for over 15 years.
